Ketchaoua Mosque
Situated in Algiers, at the foot of the Casbah. Built in 1612 during the Ottoman Empire. A combination of Moorish and Byzantine architecture. Always served as a religious site, first as a mosque until 1845 then a cathedral until 1962, and now it is a mosque again. Its structure and breathtaking architecture has remained in tact. It attracts many visitors and is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
